Jose Carreras gave an outstanding performance at Conrad Punta del Este, where he delighted VIP and special guests with a rich repertoire.
Cheered by the public at the end of each song, the noted calatán tenor played arias de zarzuela (La del Soto del Parral and already my happy hours) of lyrical farce (Pel teu love), de sainete lírico (Man of La Mancha) and several Neapolitan songs (Anema e core). He was accompanied by his nephew, David Gimenez Carreras, who brilliantly led the Symphony Orchestra of Punta del Este. With “Core n’grato” the show seemed to be ending but they were so many requests from the audience that the Master continued encores: “Granada”, “Chitarra Roman”, “winter” and the bolero “Besame Mucho” and “Only a time.
He stayed in one of the newly renovated suites overlooking the harbor and the bay. At night reveled in the modern Italian cuisine prepared by Chef O’Neill Magali St.Tropez hotel restaurant.
The show was attended by Mercedes Menafra and former President Jorge Batlle, Sergio Perrone and Sarah Puglia, among the guests who did not miss the opportunity to enjoy the second presentation of the extraordinary tenor Conrad.
